The beginning of June was quite hectic in the world of the Learn Competitive Programming With CodeChef program on Unacademy. We had some exciting classes, a fantastic weekend-event and more! If you missed the week, you don’t need to fret, because we’re here with a recap of the entire thing! In case this is your first round-up blog, let us give a little introduction. As the name implies, you’ve arrived at our weekly round-up where we bring you up to speed on all the free classes, tests, and weekend events held on Unacademy. If you’re curious about what exactly a free class entails, we’ve added a detailed description at the end. For now, here are our favorite classes of the past week.
Special Classes That Made Us All Feel Special! 31st May – 6th June
Classes And Interface In Java – In a truly riveting session, Educator Riya Bansal explained the Classes & Interface In Java. In the beginner friendly class, she explored exactly why these subjects are the heart and soul of the language, and how they are its basic units of abstraction. Beginner Problem Solving With Loops – In another session geared towards beginners, we got to see some real time problem solving. Educator Arnab Chakraborty walked us through basic programming concepts on loops and iteration and how exactly they can be used for logical problem solving. It was a great class, especially for people looking to explore Competitive Programming. If that’s you, you can catch the session here.
Stacks and Queues – This class was aimed at understanding a few of the important questions that come to mind when you’re learning about Stacks and Queues. Educator Chitrank Mishra focused the session around practical problem solving, and everyone attending got to learn a lot. The Art of Upsolving – In a class that was an absolute hit amongst competitive programmers, Educator Sonia Motwani talked about Upsolving. It was a Hinglish session perfect for beginners, and she taught attendees the finer details of Upsolving, and exactly how it can boost your CP performance to a whole new level. What The Weekend Entailed!
Elevate – The Weekend Programming Aptitude Test
Elevate, everyone’s favorite MCQ test, made a comeback this Saturday afternoon with its 9th edition! The test came with the opportunity to win a free 3-month subscription to Learn Competitive Programming With CodeChef, and even runner-ups stood the chance to win scholarships! It was an absolute blast, and even though it’s over you can still take the test here as practice. Who knows? The winner might be you next time around.
Aspire 2.0 – The Weekend Camp
Another happening event for beginners and intermediate level programmers was Aspire 2.0. The camp brought a two-day workshop, covering the core concepts of programming along with crucial tips and tricks. With four classes each day, Aspire 2.0 covered important topics such as Sorting & Searching, interview preparation for FAANG companies, Number Theory and Upsolving on the first day. And day 2 went over topics such as Shortest Path Algorithms, String Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics and Advanced Data Structures. What is a Free Class (aka Special Class), and how can you attend one?
Free classes are called Special Classes and can be attended by anyone on the Unacademy Platform who registers and chooses Competitive Programming as their goal. To access these free classes, follow these steps –
