3 min read

Last week at our Learn Competitive Programming With CodeChef program on Unacademy was certainly productive. We got a whole lot of learning done through all the free classes, and we also had a weekend learning event that was the perfect way to end the week. If you happened to be busy this past week, we’re here with another round-up blog to bring you up to speed!

If this is your first time here, let us give you some background information. You’ve arrived at CodeChef’s weekly Round-Up blog where we discuss all the free classes, tests, and weekend events held on Unacademy. If you aren’t sure what a free class is and how to access it, we’ve added a description for you at the end of this blog. For the time being, here are our favorite classes from last week!

Free Classes That Kept Us Occupied | 14th – 13th June

Graphs – Interview Problem-Solving – In what was a perfect session for students looking to ace their upcoming interviews, Flipkart Software Engineer Riya Bansal walked us through solving problems on Graph Data Structures. The session aimed at tackling a problem step-by-step, and we certainly got a lot of learning done. We covered problems of varying difficulty levels, and this is a class you absolutely need to catch up with!

Introduction To Two Pointer Technique – This class was a great starting point for beginners looking for a solid base in the Two Pointer Technique. Educator Arkapravo Ghosh introduced us to the concept, and explained how best to use it efficiently. The class also covered the application of the technique, and we rounded the entire thing off by solving a few problems. If you’re just starting out with the Two Pointer Technique, we suggest you go watch the class here

Basics Of Bit Manipulation – This Hinglish session kept it simple in terms of topics covered. It was a safe haven for every budding programmer looking to learn Bit Manipulation and understand the concept thoroughly. As the cherry on top, Educator Umang Agrawal also briefly covered the important problems of Bit Manipulation that are often asked in interviews. You can watch the recording of the class here to keep up with learning you might have missed.

Introduction to System Design – This was a class best suited for intermediate coders. It was the first session in a  three class series, and was geared towards helping students get started with hands-on system design. Educator Sagar Narang covered the topic in fine detail, and left no room for doubts. Overall, it was a pretty exciting session, and you can watch the entire class here.

What The Weekend Entailed!

Elevate – The Programming Aptitude Test – Elevate, the hour-long MCQ test, was one of the highlights of every coder’s weekend! Not only was the test a great opportunity to measure your own growth, but the winner also got a free 3-month subscription to the Learn Competitive Programming With CodeChef program. Additionally, ranks 2-100 were also given scholarships based on their performance. If you missed out on participating in the test this time, you can still give it as practice for the next time. Best of luck!

Emerge 2.0 – This event was the best DSA learning series you could have dreamed up. It was a two-day long workshop held on the 19th & 29th of June, and it was a great learning space for all aspiring coders. The workshop was especially perfect for intermediate level programmers looking to achieve a 7-star rating soon. We covered topics like Segment Trees, Contest Taking Strategies, Last Minute Interview Prep, Advanced Combinatorics and much more! Overall, it was a pretty eventful experience. In case you missed it, there’s no need to fret, you can always watch a recording of the entire workshop!
