The SnackDown Grand Finale | Part 1!

1 min read

SnackDown is one of the largest global Competitive Programming contests, and it’s been around for more than a decade. After the Covid-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of the 2020 SnackDown, we came back bigger and better than ever before with the 2021 SnackDown! We began the registration process back in September and after 3 months and over 75,000 coders, we’ve got our finalists.

The first round of the SnackDown, the Qualification, was held on 15th October with everyone who solved at least one problem moving forward to the next round. The second round was Round 1A. Everyone who solved a problem in the Qualification was eligible to participate in this, with the first 1500 moving forward to Pre-Elimination. However, for people who didn’t qualify this time around, there was hope in the form of Round 1B. Everyone who solved a problem in Qualification, and people who missed out on the top 1500 ranks in Round 1A were eligible for participation in this round. 1500 players from Round 1B were chosen to go on to the Pre-Elimination round.

The 3000 coders from Round 1A and Round 1B battled it out for a place in the top 500 during the Pre-Elimination. Alongside these 500, 80 others were chosen to move on to the next round, Elimination. Out of the 500 + 80 who qualified for the Elimination round, 60 moved on to the Online Finals!  The 60 people in the Online Finals include – The top 25 participants from the Elimination round, additional top 2 school participants, additional top 2 female participants, and additional 31 Indian participants.

So, ladies and gentlemen, a big round of applause for the 60 players that are your finalists for the 2021 SnackDown –
